God of War is an action-adventure video game developed by Santa Monica Studio and is set to be released 2018. Kratos, the main character since the previous installments, is a Spartan demi-god. He was single handedly brought up by his mother, Callisto. He was trained for combat in Sparta and he rose to become a fierce warrior. He became the Ghost of Sparta after accidentally killing his family after being deceived by Ares, it was later on revealed that he is the son of Zeus.

In the 2018 installment, Kratos will no longer use his signature double chained blades, instead he will have a magical battle axe as a weapon to throw at his enemies which will return to him when summoned. Also part of the 2018 game, players can passively control his son, Atreus.
