Interstellar is a 2014 science fiction film directed by Christopher Nolan. The story is set sometime in the 21st century when Earth has been doomed inhabitable due to disasters, famines and droughts. The only way to ensure humanity’s survival is Interstellar travel. Joseph Cooper, a former NASA pilot and his daughter Murphy discovers a dust pattern which turned out to be coordinates to a wormhole that takes them to a planet that may have the right environment to sustain life.
