Shailene Diann Woodley is an American actress born November 15, 1991 in California. As a young girl she began commercial modeling and in 1999 she made her screen debut in the movie Replacing Dad. More acting roles followed and in 2008 Woodley was recognized for playing the lead role as Amy Juergens in the ABC family series The Secret Life of the American Teenager. In 2011 she had her big screen breakthrough in Max Payne’s The Descendants where she was recognized in the movie industry. Her role as Alexandra King won her the Independent Spirit Award, 2012 Breakthrough Performance Award by MTV and a Golden Globe nomination. Woodley’s career took off from then on playing the lead characters in films The Fault in Our Stars in 2014, The Divergent series (2014 to 2016) and portraying Edward Snowden’s girlfriend Lindsay Mills in Snowden (2016).
