The Butcher is a character from the 1996 role-playing video game Diablo. A unique overlord, the butcher is famous for his large cleaver. He lives in a room full of mutilated corpses, the remains of Tristram’s townsfolk. For players with low character level, the Butcher is an extremely difficult creature to take down. His technique is to trap the player in to a corner and savagely hack away with his cleaver which leads to sudden death.
