The Dolomites is located in northeastern Italy and is part of the Southern Limestone Alps which extend from the River Adige in the west to the Piave Valley in the east. The Dolomites is also known as “Pale Mountains” due to its peculiar characteristics, the range changes its color as the day turns to night. It is a pale pinkish color at dawn and changes into hot reds towards the end of the day depending on the season too. This activity is due the carbonated dolomite rock that it is made up of.
