Hannah New is the actress playing the role of Eleanor Guthrie in the television series Black Sails. The series is an American historical adventure set on New Providence Island. It is a prequel to Robert Louis Stevenson’s novel Treasure Island. Eleanor Guthrie is the beautiful daughter of the wealthiest black marketer in the Bahamas. She owned and operated his father’s tavern on Nassau’s main street.

Hannah New was born on May 13 1984 in London, England. At age 4 she started ballet school. Later in life she turned her focus to acting and joined the Youth Theater in Great Britain. In 2011 she graduated with a Masters in Acting with Distinction and landed her first American role as one of the leads in Shelter, a pilot for Warner Bros. In 2014 she played Leila in Walt Disney’s Maleficent.
