The Evil Within

The Evil Within is a survival horror video game released in 2014, directed by Shinji Mikami, the creator of the Resident Evil series. The game follows detective Sebastian Castellanos as he investigates a disturbing mass murder at Beacon Mental Hospital. However, the investigation leads him into a nightmarish world filled with grotesque creatures and psychological horrors. The gameplay features third-person survival horror elements with limited resources, challenging puzzles, and a focus on stealth. The game received generally positive reviews for its atmospheric design, psychological horror, and challenging gameplay. Its success contributed to the resurgence of interest in horror games. “The Evil Within” also spawned a sequel, “The Evil Within 2,” released in 2017.
