Ukraine

Ukraine, located in Eastern Europe, is the largest country entirely within the continent. It gained independence from the Soviet Union in 1991, adopting a democratic form of government. Kyiv is its capital. Ukraine has a rich history and diverse economy but faces challenges, including political instability and economic issues. A conflict in its eastern regions and the annexation of Crimea by Russia in 2014 have added complexities. The country aspires for closer ties with the European Union and continues to navigate geopolitical and internal challenges.
