Destiny 2 The Final Shape is an upcoming major expansion for the popular first-person shooter video game by Bungie. This expansion represents the eighth expansion and the seventh year of extended content for Destiny 2.
The Final Shape looms as a nightmarish calcification of reality into the Witness’s twisted design. Players are invited to embark on a perilous journey into the heart of the Traveler, rally the Vanguard, and end the War of Light and Darkness. The destination for this journey is The Pale Heart, a place where eternity is being torn asunder. This unraveling landscape echoes with the deeds of our past. Players are encouraged to persevere in this impossible place and uncover what lies at the heart of this war. In The Final Shape, players will encounter three new Supers. These paths weave themselves into the fabric of our identities and place an ageless power in our hands. Today, that power grows. The Twilight Arsenal for the Titan class features blades honed by the Void that cut through the air. Lift them from the feet of your felled foes and continue the attack. The Storm’s Edge for the Hunter class allows players to become the Arc flashing in the darkness; the edge of the storm your enemies cannot outrun. The Final Shape introduces new challenges for the Guardian’s perilous journey. Within the Traveler, players must push back the corruption that has infested this mysterious and once-pure landscape. Starting in 2024, Episodes will be replacing Seasons as the new way of storytelling and content update format for Destiny 2. Each Episode will contain new story content and rewards, including a new Exotic mission, Exotic weapon and armor. Episodes will be split into three Acts, with a new Act releasing every six weeks—containing new stories, quests, activities, weapons, artifact mods, pass ranks, and rewards. Echoes, Revenant, and Heresy will be the first three Episodes, coming in The Final Shape year.
