Super Mario Bros. Wonder is a side-scrolling platform game that was released worldwide for the Nintendo Switch on October 20, 2023. It is the twenty-second installment in the Super Mario series and the first new full-fledged 2D Super Mario game since “New Super Mario Bros. U” released almost 11 years prior. The game is notable for its impressive roster of 12 playable characters, the most in a mainline Super Mario game. The characters include Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Yellow Toad, Blue Toad, Toadette, Yoshi, Red Yoshi, Yellow Yoshi, Light Blue Yoshi, and Nabbit. All characters are playable right at the start of the game. All characters play the same, except for Yoshi and Nabbit. Yoshi and Nabbit won’t take any damage on any world and stage, making them a good choice for players new to platform games.
